Spiders and bugs bite

Warning - This story is graphic in nature.

Sunday morning I woke up to find this incredibly odd spot on the lower part of my right arm. The spot was about the size of a half dollar, white, and it had a faint red ring around the area. Initially, I thought that I had burnt myself. Everyone thought it was absolutely hilarious that Fitch’s heating blanket (that I slept with) could actually do such a thing.

Then I went home …

Of course I pointed the spot out to my mother - showing her this ‘burn mark’ that appeared to be blistering slightly. Immediately, she starts freaking out claiming that its a spider bite. I didn’t believe her at first, but then we got on the Internet and started looking at some images of spider bites. Sure enough, it looks pretty simular.

Mother calls a doctor friend who then prescribes me some Antibiotics (CiPro). That stuff is rough on the stomach! Anyways, I was in a hurry to get back to KC so I fly home. The blister that had developed busted in the car on the way to the airport. It was looking better.

Monday Morning, I wake up to find a spot on my bed where my arm had oozed over night - I’m talking like 3 inchs in diameter. I decided I needed to make a doctors appointment. The appointment was at 12:00. Obviously, the blister ‘healed’ itself, and reformed. When I showed up at the clinic - this is what I had on my arm:
Spider Bite - Craig Clayton - Monday Afternoon

Pretty gross huh? Well - Since then I’ve been taking a new antibiotic called KeFlex (note: Keflex smells like rotten eggs because of it contains sulfer) … the blister has erupted once again, spilling waste all over my clothes. Here is what it looks like now. The infection is not really that bad, but it still hurts a little bit (kind of pink)…

Spider Bite - Craig Clayton - Wednesday Night

Lesson learned? Spider bites suck.

New [insert var here]

Today has been a good day …

I just bought a AMD Athlon 64X2 3800+ with 250gb hard drive, Lightscribe DVD Writer, and 1gb of Ram.

I just bought a 19inch ViewSonic LCD monitor with 2ms response time.

I just uninstalled 34 worthless applications and games that come on Windows default installation.

I just downloaded and installed Firefox 1.5.

It’s 2:27am - Why am I posting this? Shouldn’t I be asleep? No way. :)

Just wanted to appoligize to everyone that reads the site regularly. Yes, I am still wanting to post daily. No, I haven’t eaten fast food ALL month, and Yes, I have been working way to much!

UK Wins!

THE CATS PREVAIL!
It was a much more sedated crowd tonight - but we won! Amber and I got to the game late - but in enough time to see Sparks go nuts and score like 25 points. Rondo had a solid game (more scoring tonight!) …

That Pittsnoogle guy for West Virginia is an amazing player.

Tomorrow is Wednesday and no one is going to be at work - well, except me. I’m looking forward to this trip home so bad. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It’s good food. It’s family. It’s dorky pictures and funny stories. I heart it.

I miss my mom and Sam something terrible. I think Kiah is even excited about seeing me, that’s a pretty big deal! Even though I’m going to be visiting with the Family, if anyone wants to romp around Murray, Nashville, Eddyvegas, Louisville, Lexington, Madisonville, or Paducah - holler at me over the break. I’m totally willing to go out Friday and Saturday!

Ouch.

Ouch. To the naysayers - fire away. It was a respectable loss. Trust me, when Louisville losses to Greybrook Elementary this year, I’ll be dumping it ten-fold. At least Iowa was a rated opponent.

What we learned tonight:

  • Obviously UK has no center worth a darn.
  • Neutralize Rondo’s scoring and you will win.
  • Sims is a monster and will lead this team to a National Championship in 2005 / 2006.
  • Tubby Smith has lost weight!
  • UK fans are the greatest and friendliest people - ever.
  • Erin Andrews can be pretty rude when a cute girl tries to get her to notice your sign!
  • Municipal Auditorium is a cool place to see a basketball game.
  • Tim Stark is always right… ugh.

Anyways, have fun - we still have tomorrow night (West Virginia) and I am not overly confident that that game will go well either.

UK Basketball - 2005 Guardians Classic

Tomorrow is a monumental day in the life of Craig Clayton. This will be my first ever UK basketball game. Hard to believe, I know. Too bad it isn’t going to be at Rupp Arena! It will be at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.

I’m all pimped out and ready to go! I’ve got my UK clothes laid out, my sign made, and even some facepaint!

IOWA - Your Perfect Season Ends Tonight - Craig Clayton - GO CATS! UK WILDCATS <acronym title="Special Interest Group">SIG</acronym>N

The cats go to war with the Iowa hawkeyes in the first round of the Guardians Classic. Iowa is ranked #20 in the country, UK is #8. Should be one heck of a matchup! After we defeat Iowa, we will play the winner of #2 Texas or #14 West Virginia.

The game airs on ESPN2, so someone needs to tivo both games for me!

HOWTO: Blind yourself.

I am a very wierd person in the fact that I try to shower two to three times daily. That seems kind of excessive to most people, but I like to do it before work, after work, and before bed. I guess I consider it a cleansing of the soul, mind, and body.

As I was in the shower, I was trying desperately to think of a topic to “blog” about tonight. I’ve been trying really hard this week to provide interesting content on this site nightly. I had tossed around a few ideas, finally deciding that I was going to post my shower routine as well as what products I use — just to create some discussion. God, in His great wisdom, had a plan otherwise…

So i’m gargling my new Listerine Whitening Pre-Brushing Rinse (which I fully intend on reviewing at some point) and wetting my toothbrush under the facet. I grab the half-used tube of Aquafresh Extreme Clean Arctic Cool (plus whitening) toothpaste and begin to put a bead-size serving on the tip of the brushes — then it happened…

The brushes clipped the edge of the toothpaste noozle and, I kid you not, in slow motion, I watch as micro-active foaming action paste particles fly towards my right eyeball.

The pain was so incredible! My eye burned a deep arctic coolness. I tried to scream, only spewing Listerine all over the freshly cleaned countertop. I violently thrashed at my eye - trying to get my contact out! No amount of contact solution, water, or towels could relieve the pain.

Five minutes of agony I suffered - until finally a majority of the toothpaste had left my eye. CONTINIOUSLY FLUSH YOUR EYES WITH WATER - IT HELPS! I kept thinking - should I call the poison control center? What if I wake up blind from this?!?

Then I decide - a man like myself who can eat an entire grand-daddy long legs spider* and not die of poisoning WILL NOT BE BLINDED by toothpaste!

Jesus, my face hurts so bad right now! I look like i’ve toked six doobies out of my right eye (a tear bong?). I’m afraid a few gallons of vasine wouldn’t even help this though!

On other fronts, I’m looking forward to picking up Randolph at the KC airport tommorrow. This is going to be a weekend to remember folks. I’m sure that we will document each nights events accordingly (digital camera time!) — Randolph, bring your laptop - we have a lot of work to do!

* : In reference to Brett Keohan’s Rehearsal Dinner where I consumed a large daddy long legs spider with little to no hesitation. Mind you, they are the most poison spiders in the world [well, someone told me that]. Yes, it was gross, but Uncle Paul thought I was a bad mother…

#php and paris hilton

I was on #PHP on efnet last night and we got into a heated debate over paris hilton …

You all know that I think Paris Hilton is uber-hot. Everyone else seems to think she is uber-gross.

After some dicussion, one of the guys in the channel suggested this link. Check it out, i’d be interested in hearing your opinion on our favorite party girl …

CSS - Cascading Stress Sheets

“I think about 10% of my gray hair that I have is from default margins in CSS” - Bofe

I couldn’t have said it better myself…

It’s 9:34am. I’ve consumed an entire pound of whole natural almonds and five liters of diet coke trying to figure out why in the heck i have this “gutter” hanging on my menus. CSS is a great thing. CSS sucks. It’s a love hate thing…

All it takes is another set of eyes from a good buddy - thanks Bofester. Way to not get frazzled and show me what I needed to do!

First Snow of the Season

The theme for November 15th, 2005 will be Weather

Not that it amounted to anything, but snow was falling pretty hard today around 10am. This was my first KC snowfall. :) ahh….

While I was freezing this morning, people in Madisonville, Ky and Benton, Ky were dodging tornadoes! Evidently a few gas stations, homes, and trailer parks got roughed up in my hometown! Someone confirm this - but it was 70 degrees? Wow…

Now to more important things …

Some of you have been privy to a piece of information. I had told a few of you that I might be looking to move to Memphis, Tn to further the current relations with our national corporation. While this would have been a great move for me (closer to family, closer to my buddies, and closer to the lake, possible raise, relocation funds …) - I can only imagine that God has further plans for me here in Kansas City. Given the opportunity, I would love to work from Memphis. There are tons of nice people down there and I really think that a lot of work could get accomplished.

Never the less, it is not happening in the near future - so to my KC friends that were upset I was leaving, fear not, the good times may roll on! For my memphis buddies, sorry boys. Maybe sometime in the future…

Well, I’m going to try to get a few Zzz ’s … I worked till nearly 8:30 tonight. I’m working on a pretty sleek User Interface for our Database. Once you get “into” something - its hard to get away from it…

That picture is being used to promote GourmetDudes.com - a site dedicated to helping tool guys like me that can’t cook. I’m assuming that Scott and Pat are in control over there - posting recipes for the average joe to try and use to impress women.

EarlBlog.net - my buddy Earl has got a new site up - it’s going to be really awesome once he tells me what Template he wants to use! Lots of great political discussion for sure.

Digital Nicotine - another buddy, Lee, has decided to share his thoughts on his blog, check it out as well…
